POL-004 — Make-Up Exam

Policy

Students are expected to complete exams at their scheduled testing time. However, the institution understands that illness, injury, emergencies, scheduling conflicts, and other unexpected circumstances may prevent a student from testing as planned.

If a student is unable to take an exam at the scheduled time, they should not start the exam. The student should cancel or reschedule the testing appointment, when possible, and select another available testing time as soon as possible.

A missed or rescheduled testing appointment does not use an exam attempt if the student has not started the exam in FISDAP. Students who have not started the exam may simply reschedule for another available testing time without losing an attempt.

If a student begins an exam and is unable to complete it because of a sudden illness, emergency, significant technical issue, or other circumstances outside of their control, they should contact Student Support as soon as possible. The circumstances will be reviewed to determine whether a make-up opportunity is appropriate. Students requesting a make-up should not begin another attempt until they receive guidance from Student Support.

Rescheduling an exam does not automatically extend course or program deadlines. If a student is unable to find another testing time that allows them to meet an applicable deadline, they should contact Student Support for assistance.

Occasional changes to testing appointments are understandable. Students who repeatedly miss or reschedule exams may be contacted by Student Support to identify any barriers and develop a plan for completing their remaining testing requirements.
