Axon is committed to providing a safe, secure, and nurturing environment for all students, staff, and visitors. Therefore, Axon strictly prohibits the possession, use, or distribution of weapons by any individual on school property or during school-sponsored events. This policy applies to Axon students on Axon property, including the school campus as well as any location where school-sponsored or school-facilitated activities are conducted.

For the purposes of this policy, a weapon is defined as any object that is designed, used, or intended for use in causing death or injury, or for the purpose of threatening or intimidating others. This includes, but is not limited to:

-Firearms of any type, including but not limited to handguns, rifles, shotguns, and air guns.
-Explosive devices, including fireworks and ammunition.
-Knives with a blade length greater than 2.5 inches, excluding those used for school-supplied culinary arts or other educational purposes under supervised conditions.
-Martial arts weapons, stun guns, and tasers.
-Any other object that could be considered a weapon or used as a weapon.

The possession of firearms and explosive devices on school property or at any school-sponsored event is strictly prohibited, regardless of whether the individual possesses a concealed carry permit or is otherwise authorized to carry firearms under state law. The possession of knives, martial arts weapons, stun guns, tasers, and other objects defined as weapons under this policy is also strictly prohibited on school property and at school-sponsored events. Exceptions to this policy may be granted by the Axon administration for educational purposes or school-sanctioned activities that require the use of objects that could be classified as weapons. In such cases, strict supervision and safety protocols will be enforced.

All students, staff, and visitors are required to report any sightings of weapons or suspicious behavior related to weapons immediately to Axon administration or security personnel. Reports of weapons on school property or at school-sponsored events will be investigated promptly. Local law enforcement may be involved as deemed necessary by the school administration. Violation of this policy will result in serious disciplinary action, up to and including expulsion for students and legal action, depending on the severity of the violation.
