Policy Number: 02.03.002

Policy Title: Proctoring

Status: Active

Policy:

Course syllabi may individually prescribe circumstances in which examinations or other assessments must be proctored. However, the institution reserves the right to require any individual student to attempt examinations or assessments in a proctored environment. The Teaching Team, at its sole discretion, may require proctoring for a student without regard to whether the procedure is stipulated in the course syllabus or required of other students.
Proctoring, including the requirement that an assessment be re-attempted, may be required by the Teaching Team if they perceive that any academic inconsistency is evident. Academic inconsistency may include, but is not limited to, discrepancies between the results of various assessments, limited course engagement, erratic behavior, odd timing of attempts, odd duration of the assessment, technical anomalies, any reported inconsistency on a proctored assignment by third-party proctoring entities, etc.
Proctoring may be accomplished in four ways:
1) Third-Party Remote Proctoring: Students may schedule a third-party remote proctoring session with MonitorEDU.com or other provider if pre-approved by the institution. (PREFERRED METHOD)
2) Third-Party In Person Proctoring: Students may work with a public library that officially provides proctoring services.
3) The institution In-Person Proctoring: Students may schedule a time to visit the institution’s home office for a proctoring session. (Rarely approved)
4) The institution Remote Proctoring: Students may schedule an institution Remote (online) proctoring session. (Rarely Approved)
Proctoring Cost:
The student must pay for any and all third-party proctoring services. Remote proctoring sessions are offered by MonitorEDU.com 24×7, and students must schedule their session a minimum of 72 hours in advance of their test date. The student may schedule proctoring sessions at https://axoneducation.com/proctoring/.
Any third-party in-person proctoring must be approved in advance by the institution and any fees associated with the proctoring must be paid by the student directly to the proctoring organization. Students should contact support@axoneducation.com to work out the details, but it is the student’s responsibility to contact the proctoring organization to begin the process.
