Policy Title: Drug Screening

Status: Active

Policy:

All students must submit a ten-panel drug screen with negative results in order to be considered for Full Enrollment at Axon Education. Students may choose to complete their drug screen at a testing facility affiliated with Axon Education, in which case the cost will be covered by the institution. If a student chooses to complete testing at a non-affiliated facility, the cost of the drug screen will be the responsibility of the student. However, if the nearest Axon-affiliated testing site is located more than 50 miles from the student’s mailing address listed in their account, the student may request a refund of up to $45 from Axon Education.

If a positive test result is due to a legally prescribed medication, it is the student’s responsibility to provide appropriate documentation verifying the prescription. In some cases, the student may be required to undergo an enhanced or confirmatory drug test at their own expense.

If a Presumptive Positive result is reported, the student or candidate for enrollment must contact the testing agency that performed the initial screening to obtain official clearance. The student is responsible for all costs associated with any follow-up or confirmatory testing and for securing a written explanation from a qualified Medical Review Officer (MRO) designated by the testing organization.

Failure to provide documentation or obtain official clearance for any positive or presumptive positive result may result in a delay in enrollment processing or Administrative Cancellation of the student’s enrollment status.
