Policy:

Every student enrolled in an Axon Education EMS program is required to attend Clinical Internships and Field Internships as part of their program requirements. Paramedic students must also successfully complete Capstone Internships in order to meet program requirements.

To be eligible to participate in these internships, students must submit all Compliance Documents required for Full Enrollment and maintain ongoing compliance throughout the duration of their program. In addition to meeting and maintaining enrollment compliance, students must also satisfy all Clinical Compliance requirements, which include submission of the following documents:

Proof of active BLS CPR certification

Proof of current season’s influenza vaccination

Proof of COVID-19 vaccination

Copy of current health insurance card

Students are responsible for maintaining Clinical Clearance once it has been achieved to ensure uninterrupted eligibility for internship scheduling. Failure to remain compliant may result in delays in scheduling future internships or the cancellation of pre-scheduled shifts, which could impact program progression and completion timelines.

COVID-19 vaccination and personal health insurance coverage are not required by Axon Education; however, some clinical and field sites do require these items for student participation. Therefore, it is in the student’s best interest to obtain these requirements to avoid limitations in site placement options.

The Influenza Vaccination Policy (02.04.003) and BLS CPR Policy (02.04.009) provide additional details and expectations regarding these specific requirements, and students are responsible for reviewing and adhering to those policies.
