Status: Active

Policy:

The institution curriculum is approved for delivery of EMT-Basic, Advanced EMT, and EMT Jurisprudence Programs by the Texas Department of State Health Services. The curriculum is registered with the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians for provision of EMS Education.

The institution is the host-member of Axon Education Consortium and provides basic EMS education as Texas EMS School, while providing advanced EMS education through Axon Education Consortium. The institution specializes in providing allied health education via convenient online learning with an emphasis on Emergency Medical Services education.

Axon Education Consortium's Paramedic program has been issued a Letter of Review by the Committee on Accreditation of Educational Programs for the Emergency Medical Services Professions (CoAEMSP). The institution, Hunt Regional Medical Center, and Haskell Memorial Hospital are consortium partners in the institution Consortium. This letter is NOT a CAAHEP accreditation status; it is a status signifying that a program seeking initial accreditation has demonstrated sufficient compliance with the accreditation standards through the Letter of Review Self Study Report (LSSR) and other documentation. Letter of Review is recognized by the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT) for eligibility to take the NREMT’s Paramedic credentialing examination(s). However, it is NOT a guarantee of eventual accreditation.
