Policy Number: 02.11.005

Policy Title: Residency Policy

Status: Active

Policy:

The institution is licensed, and/or approved to operate through exemption, in certain states by various state agencies or accrediting agencies.

The institution approved states include:

Texas

Students must be residents of an approved state in order to enroll in the institution programs or courses. The institution students must complete all face-to-face educational activities within an approved state. Face-to-face activities include but are not limited to Skills Labs, classroom sessions, internships, externships, Field Experiences, Clinical Experiences, and Capstone Experiences.

The institution may deny admission to candidates even if they have a legal residential address in an approved state if the candidate provides any indication that they do not intend to live in an approved state while they complete the course or program in question. Face-to-face activities are required of students throughout the duration of the institution courses or programs. Students should not attempt to fulfill all face-to-face activity requirements in a single “residency” period near the end of a course or program.

Students who, after enrollment, change residency to a state other than the state in which they began their studies with the institution will be allowed to complete the program they are enrolled in at the time of the change if they maintain continuous enrollment. In all cases, students are responsible for working through scheduling and travel issues to complete face-to-face activities.
