A student may request a Leave of Absence (LOA) by emailing support@axoneducation.com.
A Leave of Absence is an approved cessation of course activity by the student in which the institution stipulates in advance that it will consider allowing the student to re-enter a program or course based upon the student’s previous admission. While, being granted a Leave of Absence does NOT guarantee that a student will be allowed to return without re-applying that is the goal under ideal circumstances. Each LOA will be considered on a case-by-case basis and may therefore include accompanying academic, financial, and behavioral requirements that are unique to each student.
LOAs will be considered on a case-by-case basis and considered only in highly unusual circumstances in which the student: has demonstrated continuous success in the course up until the moment of the request, the student is faced with significant unavoidable life circumstances that prevent him/her from making course progress, and the Teaching Team has reason to believe the student may be able to complete the course successfully after the student’s return from the LOA.
LOAs will be granted at the discretion of the Teaching Team which is also responsible for the approval of any Authorization to Return. When a student wishes to renew their efforts in a program or course they must seek approval by emailing support@axoneducation.com. If an Authorization to Return is granted, the students situation will be evaluated by the Teaching Team, and the student will be provided a remediation plan which may include a requirement that the student start the program over by joining a new cohort which may include meeting 100% of the course requirements beyond admission. In all cases students returning from a Leave of Absence must demonstrate that they have met Continuing Admission requirements [Axon Policy – 02.01.001] by demonstrating currency of all Compliance Standards.
