Policy Title: Academic Suspension

Status: Active

Policy:

Students on Academic Probation may be placed on Academic Suspension if they fail to meet the prescribed Academic Probation criteria.

Students will remain on Academic Suspension until the Teaching Team removes them from Academic Suspension status. It is the responsibility of students on Academic Suspension to reach out to the institution to negotiate a proposition for resolve or successful completion of their program. If no effort is made by the student to achieve successful completion of their program, then they will remain in a state of Academic Suspension until any one of the predetermined criteria are met that cause the student to be issued a failing grade and administratively removed from the program.

Any one or combination of the following criteria may be used to determine the assignment of Academic Suspension:
*Negative affect
*Non-responsiveness to institution staff or faculty
*Exceptionally low momentum
*Failure to schedule and/or complete required skills lab(s)
*Failure to schedule and/or complete required clinicals
*Teaching Team discretion
